The exercise of these freedoms, since it carries with it duties and responsibilities, may be subject to such formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law.
GPUH launched a second campaign under "Misunderstood FoE" initiative. The purpose of the campaign was to raise awareness across the globe that the right to freedom of expression is not an absolute right. The exercise of this right carries with it special duties and responsibilities. It may therefore be subject to certain restrictions, conditions and penalties, but these shall only be such as are provided by law and are necessary.
We designed our awareness campaign in light of Article 10 of the UK Human Right 1998, Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) that clearly explains what the right to freedom of expression allows and what doesn't.
The aim of the campaign is to reach to as many people as possible via traditional advertising mediums, digital platforms and social medias, direct mails to member of parliaments, mayors, embassies, interior ministries, news channels, news anchors and human right activists so that the maximum impact can be achieved by clarifying misconceptions about this one of the most fundamental human right.
Become our voice. Share this story in your social network so this message of peace and unity can be reached to as many people across the globe as possible.
